We're proud to announce our involvement in the launch of EnergyCloud Northern Ireland's very first project, located in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE).
This groundbreaking initiative brings a powerful combination of technology, renewable energy, and community support together to tackle one of today's biggest challenges—fuel poverty.
💧 Clean Energy, Warmer Homes
EnergyCloud works by capturing surplus renewable electricity—energy that might otherwise go to waste—and redirecting it in real time to power immersion heaters in participating homes. This means families get free hot water, generated entirely from clean sources.
It's not just a smart use of energy—it's a lifeline for households that need it most, helping to reduce heating costs, improve comfort, and make better use of Ireland's growing renewable grid.
“We're not just providing hot water—we're providing peace of mind,”
🔧 How Climote Makes It Work
Climote's smart technology plays a vital role in making the EnergyCloud system functional and scalable:
- Remote heating and immersion controllers allow homes to receive free hot water when clean energy is available
- Smart scheduling ensures water is heated when needed—automatically
- Seamless integration with Climote systems enables easy updates and no manual input from users
Behind the scenes, Climote helps EnergyCloud match supply with demand, ensuring no energy is wasted and no home is left cold.
🏘️ A Model for the Future
The Omagh launch is just the beginning. More EnergyCloud sites are planned across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as the initiative grows—and Climote is proud to be part of that future.
This project is a proof of concept for what's possible when energy innovation meets community need. Together, we're creating a cleaner, fairer, and more resilient energy system—one home at a time.
